Our Year 13 BTEC Sport group recently visited the Marjon SportsLab to support their studies in Anatomy and Physiology and Professional Studies.
With assistance of the Marjon team, Ben and Chris, they were able to practically experience a variety of sports testing and rehabilitation equipment. The students tested their reaction times, performed peak power tests on the bike, jumped height using an electronic pressure pad, and were able to experience the reduced gravity treadmill used for accelerating recovery from lower limb injury and degenerative diseases. The group also then showed off their golfing skills while having their movements tracked by state-of-the-art computer controlled 3D camera systems.
Throughout the visit, the students were keen to ask questions about the courses available at Marjon, and the career steps that graduates had previously taken towards employment.
Ben and Chris were once again extremely helpful and made the visit interesting and interactive.
