Welcome

At Coombe Dean School we believe that success is built around positive relationships. Nowhere is this more evident than in our Post-16 provision. Whether it is in lessons, tutorials, independent study, or a wide range of extra-curricular activities, our Post-16 learners are able to benefit from the support of experienced staff who can ensure that they make the very best of every opportunity that we provide, in first class facilities. Those opportunities extend beyond our own site through our collaboration with other local schools and training providers.

Please do take time to read through the wealth of information contained on this website, as I am sure that within these pages you will find a programme of study that meets your needs. I would also encourage you to visit us as I am confident that, once you have done so, you will be convinced that Coombe Dean is the right place for you.

This website gives an introduction to life at Coombe Dean and a brief overview of the wide range of options available. We believe that the transition from Year 11 to Year 12 is the biggest challenge you will face since choosing your secondary school all those years ago. We understand that there is much to choose from and it is essential that you have all of the information you need to make the right decision for you.

Here, you are young adults and will be treated and guided as such. Post-16 is about building on foundations which will support you for many years to come; you will be given much more independence and freedom. We believe that it is important that students develop as young adults; an integral part of Post-16 is to encourage students to give back to the community that has played such a massive part in molding them.

It is important to be aware that applying to Coombe Dean is more than studying A levels; we also have a large number of students studying alternative courses at a variety of colleges across the area. We would like to extend an invitation to meet us and see for yourself our facilities and what is on offer, giving you the opportunity to find a path that suits you and that allows you to progress on to further/higher education or a career of your choice.
