Success for Coombe Dean’s Post 16 Results Day

Whilst the weather this year might be variable, the results certainly are not! As always at Coombe Dean, it is all about the relationships. Teachers and students arrived early to celebrate their success stories.

Coombe Dean students started to arrive at 8am to open that all-important envelope; the one that represents two years of dedicated study. A wonderful, friendly and supportive atmosphere between the students, and staff, was really evident and there were lots of tears of joy!

The majority of students were delighted to accept their first choice places at universities across the country; some students have secured apprenticeships over the summer – only awaiting confirmation of their results. Students were supported to access insurance offers and alternative offers if they needed to.

Particular congratulations should go to Josh G with A*AA – he now goes on to read Physics at Exeter University, Barnaby H with AAB – he is off to Southampton to study Aerospace Electronic Engineering. Wentao P achieved ABC and will head to Exeter to read Maths.

Students who have made excellent progress against their target grades include; Joel H, who will now study Pharmacology with Study in Industry in Bristol, and Emily F, who will be responsible for educating the next generation of young people, as she studies Primary education at Plymouth University.

Well done to James E, who secured his Engineering Management Apprenticeship with the MOD, and to Hannah T, who is off to Bournemouth to study Biomedical Science. Good luck to Imogen G, whose unconditional offer means she will study Ecology and Wildlife, also at Bournemouth University. Jess Y will be in Bristol for Physiotherapy at UWE, and Anna S joins Goldsmiths University to read English and History.

All of our wonderful Post 16 students deserve a resounding congratulations for their hard work and efforts over the two years of study.
